Toes in the water, ass in the sand...
I literally post on tumblr once in a blue moon. I miss posting, perhaps life has become boring. Anyway, tonight a house party I wasn’t exactly motivated for has turned into a great time (so great I’m sitting alone on the internet) with a mix of old and new friends I’m having a wonderful time and feeling lucky to be alive. In conclusion, the world is not a terrible place and the...

I've been 'Traped'... Or maybe 'Rambled'?
Either way my privacy has been violated and it makes me nervous. What’s worse is that it was someone who is fully aware of my love for potatoes and nudity combined…
I haven’t updated on tumblr in months. I should get round to that.
Hey I'm Kris
and right now I’m eating a baked potato…but the catch is, I’m naked.
Damn I love tuna.

Little update.
So today I said goodbye to one of my most favourite camps ever. Camp Champions. It’s a camp for people with mental development issues so most of them had either Downs Syndrome or Autism. The thing that was different with this camp is that there was no age limit so some of the campers were in their 60’s. The funniest shit happened this week. Like they just said so much random stuff all...
Last week we had a camp for kids with HIV and 99% of them were black and as ghetto as they come. I am easily the whitest person I know so it was a lot of fun, I can now Woo Tang and drop it low like the best of them. I was leading the oldest boys cabin on a nature trail and this is what they said.
Boy 1: Aw hell naw, I ain't goin in there! It's too dark!
Me: Oh come on it's not that dark.
Boy 1: Boy, you know the black guy is always the first person to get killed!
Boy 2: But we're all black!
Boy 1: Shut up nigga' I know!
Counselor: Eh, what was that word you just used!?
Boy 1: Oh sorry... Shut up negro I know!

Are the camps here at the minute. They’re for kids with Cerebral Palsy and Spina Bifida. So 90% of them are in wheelchairs or using crutches. It’s been a pretty intense week so far, I’ve never had to lift so many kids onto horses, or pull up the climbing wall before but it’s so rewarding to see. I had to belay two kids today who had no feeling in the lower half of their...

At tonight's Wish Float...
So at the end of most camps we have a wish float where the kids come up and make wishes then light a candle for them. The candles are put on a float and sent out into the lake, it’s always really emotional but tonight was so intense. These kids are just phenomenal, I can’t convey how fantastic they are. They support and love each other so much, even the youngest campers who are only 5...
Just a quick update
I wish I was writing on here more. I can’t be bothered writing out a diary so tumblr is like the best place to write stuff down. This week we have Camp Startrails which is for kids with cancer. It is hands down my favourite camp so far. All the kids are so lovely and want to be my friend. That sounds stupid. But when kids act like you’re the coolest person in the world it is a good...
The Week of Four
So this week we had 4 camps stay with us TEAMS (Visually imapred/blind kids) SIA (something with bowels) Sunrise and Monarch (Autism/Downs syndrome). It has been AMAZING. They were like the funniest kids I have worked with. They were really affectionate which was a problem at times so every time they tried to hug us we had to high five them which kinda sucked cos they didn’t like it. But it...
One of the camps here this week is called 'Camp Sunrise' it's for kids with developmental problems, mostly autism and downs syndrome. So they're actually hilarious and here's a conversation I had with one.
Little girl: Hi!
Me: Oh hi!
Little girl: So i'm going to make a gun to zap away bug bites!
Me: Woah, that's such a good idea!
Little girl: I can make one for acne for you if you want?
Me: ....

Camp Janus
Ok so the first load of kids arrived on Thursday evening and I’m not gonna lie, I was shitting a brick. Camp Janus is a camp for kids who are burns victims. I was just worried I wouldnt handle it or I would freak out but I actually had the most amazing time with these campers. The strength in them is phenomenal, they are literally the most outgoing and confident kids I have met in a long...
Ok so I’ve comandered a laptop so this one will be a wee bit longer. Everything is going really well over here. I’m horribly sunburnt, the sun does not like my skin. However i’m gonna come home with a hot bod and a beach tan. totes. I finished my lifeguard training on monday and passed my test so I am a lifeguard for the summer! (poor kids). I can’t believe i’ve been...
Just a little update...
Everything’s great! I’m training to be a lifeguard at the minute so fingers crossed that goes well! I miss you guys and i’ll update soon!

I still haven’t packed my bag and my mum has become a blubbering mess, bless her. But despite all this stress I am so excited for tomorrow. I love in flight movies and getting all comfy in my seat, I love the buzz of the airport because you know you’re going on holiday, I especially love that touchdown because you can sigh and think “made it alive!” I’ve had an...

Old Lady 2: Oh, you're not living IN the cemetery are you? Ho ho ho.
Old Lady 1: No no, won't be long now though...
I'm FREEEEEEEE!!!
After 6 long months of working full time I am finally relieved of duty to Xtra-Vision. I loathed that job with every ounce of my being when I first started and by the end I loved it. It was a great job, with great perks and the people I worked with are good friends. I’ve taken a lot from working there, how to be more aggressive (in a good way), standing up for myself, voicing my opinion and...

So I got a hand written envelope in the post yesterday morning (amongst all the election crap that was also in my letter box). Initially I thought that maybe Margaret Ritchie had upped the antics in her campaign and started sending me (a highly influential individual) personal letters. But no…. It was something MUCH better! It was a wee letter from Megan, which I really appreciated! So thank...

Louis Theroux: America's Medicated Kids.
This is about kids on medication for illnesses like ADHD, OCD, Bipolar Disorder etc. The impression I got from a lot of the kids was that they were being made to do things they didn’t want to, some of them were so trivial. One child was being treated because he didn’t like wearing certain types of clothes. It’s almost like they are being shaped by a society that demands them to...
Serious Eugggggghhhhh...
The police are doing check points in Ballynahinch which I’ve dealt with a couple of times. Tonight though, they decided to look in my boot. I’ve never needed to go into my boot, so was I shocked when I discovered you have to press a button to open it? Yes, yes I was. Could I find this button without looking suspicious? No… no I could not. After a lot of fumbling I eventually got...
